Losing a friend is never easy, losing a close friend is even harder, but losing a someone, who has been your constant companion for a lifetime is the most heartbreaking thing you could do.

It is with a very heavy heart that I have to report the loss of a very special companion. Daima was more than a friend and in some ways more intimate than a family member. We were a team and a very special team. A unique team that worked admirably.

His devotion had no bounds, always there ready to greet, eager to be by my side, to act the clown when I was feeling sad, to travel Europe and discover new pastures and there to sympathise when things were wrong. He was there to do a unique dance to show his pleasure, and to look into my eyes so we knew each other’s deepest thoughts. Daima’s personality was without any doubt his virtue; he was fair, gentle, vivacious, princely, proud and noble. He carried himself with honour and loved the world he lived in. He loved and was loved by the hearts he touched. He gained the devotion and respect of man and dog. He never needed to show any aggression, anger or hostility to assert his position at the head of the doggie family. They simply adored him and his kindly persona

Although he has now closed his eyes for the last time, I shall see the sparkle of those eyes for countless more years from the faces of his children, grand children, great grandchildren and many future generations. I shall feel him by my side on the darkest and coldest winter night, and the brightest summer day. I shall recognise his scent on the spring breeze or an autumn wind and see his footprints in the snow and feel them on my heart, were he shall remain deeply entrenched forever.

When someone you treasure becomes a memory, the memory becomes a treasure.

Death leaves a heartache no one can heal, love leaves a memory no one can steal

You was a "Once in a lifetime dog" I am not sure if I live long enough to share my life with an other companion like you
